I know that sometimes its difficult to think of ways to use your freeze dried food storage. Here at SuttonsDaze we don't only want to help you stock your pantries for emergencies, but provide you with ways to use it. This recipe makes about 4 servings; adjust quantities up or down as needed.
Make “Mash”: Rehydrate Potato Dices in 1½ cups hot water for 15 minutes. Drain (reserve a little liquid), then mash with milk, butter, salt, and pepper.
Prepare Filling: In a skillet over medium, brown Ground Beef; drain fat. Stir in Chicken and Peas; season with salt and pepper.
Assemble Pie: Spread meat mixture in a 9″ pie plate or small casserole. Dollop mashed potatoes on top and smooth.
Cheese Topping: Sprinkle cheddar evenly over mash.
Bake: 350 °F for 20 minutes, until cheese is melted and edges bubble.
Rest & Serve: Let stand 5 minutes before cutting into wedges.
