The BEST Small Batch Brownies!

Your New Favorite Treat: Small-Batch Air Fryer Brownies!

Craving a warm, fudgy brownie but don’t want to make a whole 9×13 pan? Or maybe you’re just looking for an excuse to use your air fryer for something other than fries? Well, get ready, because I’m about to share my absolute favorite small-batch brownie recipe, perfectly tailored for your air fryer!

I’ve been on a quest for the ultimate brownie for years, and while I love a classic oven-baked batch, there’s something truly magical about these air fryer wonders. They come out perfectly crisp on the outside, incredibly fudgy and gooey in the middle, and are ready in a fraction of the time. Plus, the small batch size means less temptation to eat the entire pan (though no judgment if you do!).

This recipe is ideal for a solo treat, a cozy night in for two, or when you simply need a chocolate fix without all the fuss. And honestly, once you try them, you might never go back to traditional baking for your brownie cravings.

Why the Air Fryer, You Ask?

The air fryer excels at creating a beautiful texture. The circulating hot air gives these brownies a slight crispness on the edges while keeping the inside wonderfully moist. It’s also super efficient, preheating quickly and baking faster than a conventional oven. No more waiting around for your oven to heat up for a quick dessert!

Let’s Get Baking!

This recipe is incredibly simple and uses basic pantry staples. You’ll need a small oven-safe dish that fits comfortably in your air fryer basket – a 5 or 6-inch square or round pan works perfectly.

Course Dessert

Ingredients

  • 5 tbsp unsalted butter (soft)
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 2 large eggs + 1 yolk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/3 cup vegetable Oil
  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp corn starch or tapioca starch
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup walnuts or baking chips

Instructions

  • Line your 8×8 baking dish with parchment paper and spray with non-stick cooking oil.
  • Melt butter and mix with sugar. Whisk in eggs and egg yolk, add vanilla and cocoa powder. Mix well
  • Using a spatula, stir in flour, corn starch and salt until combined. Mix in the nuts or baking chips.
  • Spread the brownie batter evenly on the parchment paper in the baking pan.
  • Use the BAKE setting on your air fryer, place the baking dish in the air fryer, set at 325 degrees F and bake for 30 minutes. Carefully test the brownies after 30 minutes with the tooth pick test. It should be moist crumbs, not wet batter.
  • Serve hot with ice cream, or plain. Will last 3 days on the counter, but that is a straight up rumor because the pan is always empty by the end of the day.

Made these today for my daughter, it’s her birthday, and they are excellent. This recipe is similar to my usual recipe with some minor modifications, but they are moister after baking. Plus using the air fryer instead of the oven was a huge plus!
